About the film
For decades, the Latin American documentary film has followed and represented active women in political opposition. The main characters have usually found a new way of confronting the power structures that exclude and repress them through social movements or collective political contexts. But are women limited to be in power only by taking part in the big social movements? In what other ways do women resist and challenge the existing power structures? How do they use the documentary’s voice to explore, create and reflect on their relationship to power?
Directors Valentina Llorens and Lucía Gajá reflect about this topic based on their films The House in Argüello and Intimate Battles.
In collaboration with ABF Stockholm, Konstnärsnämnden, Argentina– och Mexico’s embassies in Sweden.
