Zita Folkets Bio is the oldest autonomous cinema in Stockholm. The cinema’s task is to show quality films for both adults and children that do not usually appear on the bigger cinemas.

About the film

Since colonisation, land has been taken away from the various indigenous communities in Latin America. They have had to face countless challenges to keep their culture alive and protect their way of life.

This year’s programme includes the films Nothing but the Sun, The Pink Indian Against the Invisible Beast: Noel Nutel’s Battle, Nũhũ Yãg Mũ Yõg Hãm: This Land Is Our Land! and The Spokeswoman, which reflects on the challenges faced by indigenous peoples in countries such as Paraguay, Brazil and Mexico.

Join us for a conversation with the directors about their experiences portraying this reality and how film can be a powerful tool in the struggles of these groups.

See you on 26 September, 16:15 at Zita Folkets Bio after the screening of The Pink Indian Against the Invisible Beast: Noel Nutel’s Battle.
