About the film
Lila, a young Korean-Argentinean girl, navigates the contradictions of her identity and tries to find her place in the world. Her father, Antonio, arrives in Latin America 18 years earlier, and decides to bet everything on the promise of a young immigrant’s dream. A family epic that seeks to return to the past in order to reinvent the present.
Before the festival’s final screening, VeraSol K-popkör, led by conductor Veronica Hwang, will give a special musical performance as part of our closing celebration.
VeraSol is Sweden’s first and only K-pop choir, run by VeraSol Group, a Korean language and culture academy. Founded in 2022 by passionate K-pop fans, the choir is led by Korean conductor Veronica Hwang, with support from ABF Stockholm. Since its founding, VeraSol has collaborated with the Asian Film Festival, performing there annually, and has also appeared at major cultural events such as NärCon and Comic Con.
The choir welcomes new members every semester and rehearses at ABF-huset in Stockholm. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, age, language, or previous musical experience.
