About the film
Near the border between Ecuador and Colombia, Carmela, an Afro-Ecuadorian woman, opens her home to thousands of Venezuelan migrants who cross South America on foot in search of a better life. When the pandemic closes the borders and her husband is unexpectedly imprisoned, Carmela must make a choice.
